The Lyrics of Your Life

How can I not admire you
When you put a song in others' hearts
Even when you cannot hear your own melody.

How can I not be inspired by you
When you sing out loud
The words of your own songs.

How can I not praise you
When you create beautiful harmony
With those who cannot carry a tune.

How can I not respect you
When you encourage soloists
To be a part of your choir.

How can I not feel joy for you
When you dance
Even though no music can be heard.

Present

Be still;
What do you hear?
Silence the mind
Which opens a door
To a truth
That cannot be known
When the mind is a-flutter.

Be still;
What do you hear?
Rhythms of life;
The humming of activity;
The 'swoosh' of the wind,
Which can be heard
When you pause to listen.

Be still;
What do you see?
Stop and absorb
The colors, the angles,
The details, and contrasts
Which you will appreciate
When you stop to look.

Be still;
What do you see?
The path that is
Chosen for you to follow
Which appears
When your mind is clear
And your eyes are open.

Be still;
What do you feel?
The temperature of the air;
The pulse of your energy;
The sensations on your skin;
The tension of each muscle;
The impact of being Present.

Be still;
What do you feel?
Emotions of joy;
Relief from tensions;
Freedom from worries;
Peace that can only be found
By living and being Right Now.

Map to Peace

Look no further than your very own life
For contentment already lives there.

Satisfaction is a treasure available to each of us
When we are willing to follow the map within.

The key is available only to ourselves;
'Tis a journey that cannot be completed through others.

Nor can the doorway to contentment and peace
Be unlocked and opened through things external.

Connecting to peace is a personal endeavor;
For God is peace, and attainment comes through relationship.

Treasure the smallest gifts He has provided
And your eyes will see anew the great gifts already present.

These gifts, disguised at first, they may seem
As problems causing great suffering,

But recognize them as opportunities and rejoice,
For they are your divine guidance to fulfillment.

Each coordinate on your inner map, chosen specifically for you
Is an opportunity to draw closer to the treasure.

Your ulitmate treasure- Peace:
Living the path God has chosen for you.

Formation of Man

No plant of the field
Had yet sprung up
(Because there was not rain);
Man was created
From dust on the ground
And all the earth was his gain.

Into his nostril
God did breathe
To give this man his life.
Adam was placed
East in Eden-
'Twas where he was given his wife.

Trees sprang up
And a garden made
For beauty and good food;
The Tree of Life
'Twas in its' midst,
Bearing knowledge of evil and good.

God told Adam
As well as Eve
To eat of every tree,
But save one-
Evil and good,
And to just let that one be.

The serpent came
And said to Eve
Concerning what God had said;
"You will not die
But be like God
If from this tree you're fed."

She took its fruit
And ate it up,
And with Adam she did share.
But once they ate
Their lives had changed
And they saw that they were bare.

For now they knew
Of evil and good
And clothed themselves with leaves,
And hid from God
Behind the trees
Not wanting to displease.

Then God asked
Adam and Eve
'Of the forbidden did you eat?'
'Yes we did.
What we have done
Was by the serpent's deceit.'

Because of this
God placed a curse
On serpent, woman and man.
One would eat dust
Another got pain-
And the last must toil the land.

And in death
Man would go
Back to the earth as dust,
To the place
From whence he came
In the eyes of God 'twas just.

The Creation

Heaven and Earth
God did make
In the beginning of time.
No light was found
Nor land or sea
Or creature of any kind.

So on day one
God made the light
As only our Creator could.
He called light 'Day'
And darkness 'Night',
And saw that it was good.

Then on day two
Heaven was made,
And the water split in half;
Some above
And some below
Heaven, the great expanse.

Now on day three
God did gather
The waters that flowed below,
Creating Earth
And the sea
And he saw that it was so.

Plants with seeds,
Trees with fruit,
Vegetation and strong vine,
Sprouted from Earth
Filling the land
Each according to its kind.

On day four
God did place
Sun, moon and stars in the sky.
The sun rules the day
And moon, the night
And stars light the heavens so high.

There for seasons
And for signs
And also for years and days;
The moon and stars
And sun so bright
Keep time as we go on our ways.

Birds and fish
For sky and sea,
Were created on day five;
They flew and swam
And multiplied
The first creatures to be alive.

Beasts and livestock
And creeping things
Day six arrived on earth;
And man was formed
Likening God-
A great symbol of man's worth.

So all was good
In the eyes of God
When the world had been completed.
Then he rested
And blessed this day
Knowing Holy time is needed.

His Greatness

Rejoice in His love
And sing His praise.
Tell all the world
Of his wonderful ways.

His gift to us-
A sacrifice so great;
Belief in Him-
Salvation, our fate.

Our sins, forgiven;
Our faith makes it so;
Shout of His greatness
So that others can know.

Achieve

Spread your wings
And try new things
And growth, you will achieve.

By working through strife
Find purpose in life,
And growth, you will achieve.

Rejoice in your pain
For it brings only gain,
And growth, you will achieve.

Pursue with flare
A daunting dare,
And growth, you will achieve.

For only through lows
Do you reach your goals,
And growth, you will achieve.

Success is a measure
Of obstacles you weather,
And the growth you did achieve.

You Are Not Alone

At times this world can be an empty place;
Even small hurdles seem hard to face.
Know that you are not alone.

When the road you're on, seems so long
And you feel as though you can't stay strong,
Know that you are not alone.

When your path seems so unclear
And your unknown future arouses fear,
Know that you are not alone.

Open your mind and try to hear
The message being whispered in your ear.
Know that you are not alone.

There's a plan for you, in place since birth,
Even before your arrival on earth.
Know that you are not alone.

Your Creator and Father above
Is guiding you with his love.
Know that you are not alone.

Your Loving Heart

Your loving heart
Pushes me when I think I can't;
Comforts me when I fail;
Encourages me when I give up.

Your loving heart
Sees my full potential;
Understands my weaknesses;
Celebrates my accomplishments.

Your loving heart
Forgives me when I can't, myself;
Stands by me when no one else does;
Rejoices in the person that I am.
