My heart and mind have been swept into a sea of roiling waters;
Exciting and terrifying; unexpected and out of control.
What is before me thrills and challenges me.
What lies beneath the surface fills me with fear.
I know the swell of my own heart; do you know yours?
How will I know the deepest part of your soul is safe for me?
How will I know that you know your heart?
How will you know that you can trust your heart?
Will the ocean sweep you away from me?
Or will you let this anchor hold you?
I've been floating in a peaceful pond, feeling blessed by all.
Surrounded by beauty and serenity; feeling safe and joyful.
I see the wild journey that you've been on,
And fear I'm only a source of safety and peace in this moment;
A break from the exhausting storm-
One that has made your journey painful and uncertain.
How will I know that you know your heart?
